An Inspiring Day at Food Tech 2019

It started with an early morning drive out to Örebrö, and ended with us meeting the Prince of Sweden. What a day!

We are so thankful that we were invited to pitch at Food Tech 2019. At the event on March 18, we were treated to several inspiring talks about the future of food and the constant change the industry is experiencing. The morning was chock full of intriguing talks about how technology, automation and the Internet of Things is changing the entire food industry. We learned about all sorts of large scale and under-the-radar innovations.

After lunch, things got more intense when Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Värmland joined the audience for the pitch competition. Our CEO and visionary, Hamza Qadoumi, led the pitch, outlining our vision for reinventing the concept of farming. After some deliberation, the judges panel selected us to move on to the final round as one of the top two pitches.

While we didn’t win the live popular vote that followed, we are honored to make it as far as we did. In the end, the grand prize went to a worthy cause to save the honey bees. As a consolation prize, we got to meet the Prince and chat with several interested investors after the event. Not a bad day in the end.
