It’s Friday and that means it’s time for the 2nd Edition of the Meet the Team Blog series, a weekly series where we feature Q&As from the Ecobloom team. If you missed last week, please check out the 1st Edition which was about CEO Hamza Qadoumi. But now, time for round 2 with Tech Lead, Arijeet – let’s get started!
What is your name?
Arijeet Swapankumar Laga
What is your background? Where are you from?
I am from India and I have done Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering from India. Also, currently I am pursuing Master’s in Embedded Systems here in Sweden.
What is your role at Ecobloom? Describe it as if you were describing it to a 5-year old (2 sentences or less).
I am working as Mechatronics/Tech Lead in Ecobloom. My job is to look after the electronics and the software i.e. the Ecobloom App.
What is your favorite memory from your time at Ecobloom thus far?
The meetings that are conducted by our BOSS
What is the best thing about working for a start-up?
It gives you the opportunity to try different things for the betterment of the product/service and this is how you learn and grow with the company. As a start-up, it is very often that you will have a very small group of people in your company and so you will be spending more time with those people only and that’s how you get to know each other.
What are you most looking forward to happening at Ecobloom in the future?
I wish when someone searches aquaponics on Google, Ecobloom must be among the first few suggestions.
If you were an herb, which one would you be, and why?
Basil is the answer. I like the taste and the smell. I like to eat basil leaves early morning with sugar/honey.
What is your favorite thing about the Ecogarden?
Aquaponics in a very compact size
Where would you like to take a business trip someday?
Central Europe
Explain aquaponics like you would to a 5-year old.
Growing plants without using soil by just using the water which comes from the fish tank and goes back to the fish tank. The fish and the plant both keep the environment healthy.
What is your favorite place in Stockholm to work offsite? Have an afterwork? Grab coffee?

What is a personal hobby of yours that your coworkers would be surprised to know about?
If I say it, then it won’t be surprising anymore 😀
