Ecobloom Sweden is now Ecobloom Technologies. But what does this mean?
Since 2018, we have been focused on creating home aquaponic systems, the EcoGarden, that first launched the company back then. The vision behind this was to contribute in promoting a sustainable way of producing food that is easy, smart and accessible while reducing food waste. In more recent times Ecobloom has also been working on achieving the same mission but on a larger scale, indoor farms. By providing solutions and going into the roots of the global challenges we aim to solve, we are able to create a bigger change with farms.
By developing an AI powered decision support system, farmers can predict and plan ahead for expected harvest needs. This is called EcoSense. With EcoSense, farmers are now also able to study patterns and analyze growth rates. We gather and analyze data that is not immediately seen or processed by our human senses. Because of this, potential diseases or any other anomalies in the growing process that can lead to waste can be detected and prevented at an early stage.
Indoor farming is relatively new, but just about anything can be grown indoors, from fruits to flowers, and vegetables. It is a necessary solution for our population to be able to grow more food using less land in a more controlled environment, all year round. Farmable land as we know it is diminishing and 68% of the world population is projected to live in urban areas by 2050. In the long run, it is a more sustainable way to grow more locally, in an optimized way throughout the whole production chain.
At present, we are in a stage where EcoSense has gone from pilot product to being market ready!
